ABOUT DEE
Dee grew up as the daughter of a double bassist in a symphony orchestra. As a child, she often spent long Sunday afternoons in concert halls - fascinated by the sounds of the instruments being tuned before the concerts. Music was not something she discovered; it was simply part of her world.
​
Although it was expected, Dee never wanted to follow the classical path. She was drawn instead to the music on the radio: Gladys Knight, Donny Hathaway, and Patti Austin. Through her headphones, she absorbed phrasing, harmonies, and grooves, quietly and unknowingly shaping her musical identity and vocabulary.

As a teenager, she taught herself enough piano to support her songwriting, developing her instincts by listening closely and working things out by ear - a method that still defines how she writes and produces today.
​
After years of performing with live bands, while secretly writing songs of her own, Dee gradually began to shift her focus. While raising her children, she deepened her skills in composition, arrangement, and production. Discipline replaced doubt.

Today, Dee writes, arranges, and produces all of her music herself. Her work reflects a lifetime of listening, rooted in classical foundations, intertwined with jazz and soul influences, reshaped through years of trial and error, and realized in collaboration with world-class engineers and musicians.

OLD-SCHOOL PRODUCING
Dee aims to capture a vintage, soulful sound using an old-fashioned approach to songwriting. Her songs are built around a verse, a bridge, and a catchy hook, all tastefully produced with real instruments only.
​
She effortlessly blends soul, jazz, and pop into a warm, distinctive sound. Strong melodies, rich, layered harmonies, and a deep groove are central to her music. To maintain a spacious, authentic sound, she relies on minimal plugins, presets, or filters.
​
Dee records all of her vocals herself, applying the same exacting standards she has developed over years of studio work. She works exclusively with live instruments, carefully selecting the best musicians for each part.
​
Her backing vocals, often featuring unconventional voicings, are a key element of her arrangements. Dee is a composer, producer, and arranger who collaborates with top musicians worldwide, and is often recognized as a “female powerhouse.”
